Slide Scanning

Our firm is unique in being able to scan tens of thousands of slides quickly and economically - a perfect data storage solution for doctors, architects, engineers, universities and anyone with large numbers of valuable slides which they need both to preserve and access.

Once the images are scanned in, they can be easily integrated into any sort of database, allowing employees and clients around the world to use that information

If you are looking for long-term and safe preservation of any sort of computer data, then you want to put it on a CD. This easy to use and permanent media will hold a large amount of information (over 600Mb) and is the perfect choice for back-up and distrubition of irreplacable business or personal documents.

This is a great solution when you have large amounts of data which you want to protect - like images or PowerPoint presentations.

Slide Imaging

Files taken from a variety of popular programs like PowerPoint, Harvard Graphics, and Freelance Graphics and imaged to 35mm slides!

We use the best slide & negative imaging equipment available.

• Mac or IBM format accepted.
• Improve your presentations!
• Make an impact !

Expert Tip:
When creating your slides in Power Point or other presentation programs be sure to Set Slides for 35mm format. We also recommend your backgrounds be dark with light text and lines of sufficient size and weight (text should ideally be at least 10pt bold, lines minimum of 1.5 points). For full frame slides from standard image formats a 2 X 3 aspect ration should be maintained (such as a size of 11 X 7.33 inches at 150 - 375 dpi).

We also accept slide presentations sent via email. We will then ship the finished product back to you by regular mail or FedEx, whichever you need. Call or email us for more details.

Advanced Photo System

APS cameras and film can give you some exciting advantages over traditional film:

APS Camera APS photos APS index print APS film
Smaller, sleeker cameras with drop-in easy loading. 3 print sizes to choose from as you shoot: 4 x 6, 4 x 7 or 4 x 10. An index print makes ordering reprints and enlargements a breeze. Negatives are returned in the cartridge for easy and safe storage.

APS uses new technologies to create an exciting photo system, includes cameras, films, and processing (done right here on site). With a wealth of easy to use features, you're practically guaranteed high-quality pictures, and a great time taking them.

  • easier loading and operation
  • reduced chance for errors
  • increased uses and options for images (beyond prints!)
  • improved storage and retrieval of pictures
  • easier shooting, handling, and storing
  • more picture choices and the ability to customize

An important element of APS film technology is the Picture Quality Information Exchange (PQIX). Picture Quality Information Exchange (PQIX) records information about the scene being photographed on a magnetic layer on the back of the film and optically on the emulsion. Thus, you can record the selected picture size (you choose the print format when you take the picture) and the light source (sun or flash) through PQIX.

Then, during developing, photofinishing equipment uses this data to make adjustments that improve the quality of your prints. So problems with lighting, for example, are adjusted and you end up with better pictures. PQIX also allows photofinishers to include information such as date, time, and titles on the back of your photographs.

We process APS film on-site.

Certified Digital Photo Processor

The Photo Depot has been approved as a "Certified Digital Photo Processor." This approval means that The Photo Depot is among the elite in digital photo processing; this, in turn, means that our customers will be able to get pictures from digital media in our photo lab far superior to what they can produce at home.

Digital camera sales have risen tremendously over the last couple of years. With this in mind, independent photo labs like The Photo Depot needed to find a way to let consumers know that they could print photos from digital cameras. This is very important because many consumers are unaware that they can have "real pictures" from digital media, such as SmartMedia, CompactFlash, SD Card, Memory Stick, CDs, and floppys printed at a photo lab just as they did their traditional film in the past.

This Certified Digital Photo Processor distinction also allows The Photo Depot to use the trademarked logo that was created by Independent Photo Imagers (IPI), America's largest group of independent photo labs. The Photo Depot, a member of IPI, had to meet four requirements to be named a Certified Digital Photo Processor. Upon approval by the authorizing committee, these requirements will have to be met on an annual basis.
